A 18th-century French faience platter from Forge-les-Eaux, hand painted with a blue and white basket of flowers on an off-white crackled glaze. The lip is shaped and features a frieze of foliage and geometrical patterns. This rustic platter showcases a stylized interpretation of a popular decor and features a ‘cul noir’ underneath, a darker Brown glaze applied to improve solidity. A beautifully robust platter, full of textures, which would look perfect displayed on a shelf or in a kitchen dresser.
