Hand carved, vintage African chair from Baule tribe. The Baulé chair is from the Ivory Coast in Africa. The chairs of the Djimini and Baulé tribes have a typical design, low with a vertical back. Traditionally reserved for members of the Poro society, these chairs are offered by wives or female relatives to men after initiation.
