Mirja Ilkka was born in 1981 in Virrat, Finland. Mirja started painting with her grandmother at a young age, with a passion for painting she graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki. Ilkka uses both the manner of classical painting and breaks traditional boundaries with his motifs. Ilka's motifs are found in nature as well as from memories, and exploring the subject is central to the process. After carefully studying the subjects, they then go their own way.
