Mixed media on canvas. The artwork has been built up with layers of paint, coffee and scraps of paper. The following garden plants have also been part of the process in different ways (some by being 'pressed' into the canvas): lamb's ears, laurel hedges and dried flowers from the giant verbena.

This particular series, ARK IMPRESSIONS, is inspired by the impressions, tones and textures of Jessica's own private garden the month the artwork was created. The works in this series are always painted in pairs and can be seen as postcards from home. The direct inspiration for this piece of art from the month of March has been the withered plants of last year and the soil that is the cradle of the new season.
